Personalized Family Tree Engraved Bourbon Barrel Head

This listing is for an authentic bourbon barrel head that has been planed, sanded and engraved with our "Family Tree" design. Each barrel head is unique, with its own defining characteristics. There will be slight variations from the listing image, but the overall look is consistent.

The definition of family in modern times has evolved into a much bigger concept than ever before. With blended families and friendships that expand traditional definition, we have created this family tree design to incorporate names without the usual "Branching". We have left the spaces for names blank to be filled in independently. We include a fine tipped sharpie for this purpose. Adding a family name is optional. If you wish to not include a name, under "Personalization" just state, "No Name Please". Looking for your own personal twist to the family tree, please message us! All of our bourbon barrel heads come straight from the distilleries located throughout Kentucky. They have been aged to their own perfect. The nature of these heads is to seperate and warp slightly. We have attached thin finish ply to the backs to help arrest this process. All barrel head recieve 3 coat clear polyurethane to seal them. The back of the heads is charred as part of the manufacturing process of bourbon. We have sanded and sealed the backs so the charring will not leave marks on your hands, walls or flat surfaces.

This listing can be purchased as either a wall hanging or a lazy susan. Either way, all hardware is included. You can double down with the lazy susan as the mechanism allows for wall hanging as well as the traditional tabletop use.

Each piece starts by sanding the back to remove the heavy char.
Each stave or head is inspected for damage or cracks.
We carefully clean each one with water and a wire brush to remove any dirt and debris but retain the authentic aged patina.

After cleaning and gluing (if item requires), we sand all the edges with 600 grit to make smooth.
We hand rub 3 coats of food-safe polyurethane for longevity. We have moved on from oiling as it wears off with use and decreases the longevity of the wood.

All products are then carefully wrapped and await shipping.

Each authentic Kentucky bourbon barrel comes direct from one of the many distilleries that surround us, including Jim Beam, Maker's Mark and Jack Daniels. The charm in all of our barrel products is no two are ever exactly the same. The patina of use and age infuses each one, making them a unique statement of our American history and culture.
