While I love to claim that Shauna is at the heart of my inspiration, the impetus behind my success goes back much further. Growing up with an inspirational father who was both a volunteer fireman and an early computer programmer for Boeing, and a trailblazing mother working at GTE, I developed a highly competitive streak from an early age. I explored a variety of motorized sports from motocross to dirt carts, from sprint cars to monster trucks, and even managed to be competitive.
When I reached my mid-twenties, I ventured into entrepreneurship with a good friend. Through iron hanging, we were able to fund our racing endeavors, thus the establishment of our welding and commercial construction business was a logical step. Now, after three decades, it is still flourishing.
Upon becoming a single parent to my child, I opted to step away from the pressure of the business world and turn my focus to local welding requirements. Doing so enabled me to uncover a passion for decorative welding, satisfying both the local population and businesses, allowing me to tap into my creativity by making beautiful gates, fences, and unique art.
Shauna and I moved to Kentucky and came together to establish OnFireCraft. Being a small business owner can be nerve-racking but is undoubtedly the most rewarding means of earning a living. All that we have accomplished up to now is a blend of the best of our past and current experiences, which we have found very fulfilling. We hope that you take as much pleasure from our products as we do from crafting them.
